Camp Director

Andrew Bonasera is currently the head men’s lacrosse coach at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham Alabama. He has been at BSC since May of 2007 starting the team for its inaugural NCAA DIII season last spring 2009. He has been coaching at the NCAA level for the past 7 years with the past 5 as a head coach. His team at BSC went 6-9 in its inaugural 2009 season and went 7-8 in 2010 with wins over NCAA tournament team Keene State and also finishing 2nd in its conference- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Bonasera, a 2003 graduate of Roanoke College in Salem, Va., was previously the head men’s lacrosse coach at The College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati Ohio from August 2005 to May 2007 in which time he started the team for it’s inaugural NCAA DIII season in 2007.

Prior to working at Mount St. Joseph, Bonasera served as the assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., for two seasons where he was the offensive coordinator for the team competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. At RMC he helped coach players to All-Conference and All-American honors.

Bonasera was a 2003 graduate of Roanoke College where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration. He was a four-year starting attackmen for the Maroons and was the school’s first ever four time All-American, earning Honorable Mention honors in 2000 and 2001, Third-Team honors in 2002, and First-Team honors as a senior in 2003. He was a four-time first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference attackmen and was also named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2003. He was voted team captain his senior year and finished his senior season as the schools all time leading scorer with 264 points which currently ranks second at RC. Bonasera was named Roanoke’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2002 and 2003, and was chosen to participate in the 2003 North vs. South Senior All-Star game in which the South team won. Bonasera holds the Roanoke College freshman scoring record with 56 points (in 2000) and also holds the school and conference record for the most points in a game with 14 on 8 goals and 6 assists in a game in 2001.

Bonasera has experience working many different lacrosse camps over the past 10 years. He worked as a counselor with Bill Pilat Lacrosse Camps in Salem, VA. for 7 years including Bill Pilat’s The Goalie School, Defensive Challenge Camp, and the Roanoke College Lacrosse Camp. Bonasera has also served as a counselor and director at Chad Moore Lacrosse Camps at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pa. for 4 years. He has also worked as a coach counselor at the Midwest Max Elite 100 Camp in Columbus Ohio in 2007.

Bonasera is originally from Columbus, Ohio where he was a 1999 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. He helped lead the Golden Bears lacrosse team to a 60-1 record over three years winning 2 state championships, 3 Midwest Championship titles, and a national ranking of 7th in the country in 1998. His senior year he was a First-Team All-Ohio and All-Midwest selection and was also voted his teams offensive MVP.

Bonasera currently resides in Birmingham Alabama.
